The Certificate IV in Community Services provides you with specialised skills and knowledge for supervisory roles within the community and develop strategies to assist individuals in meeting their immediate needs.

Your training will focus on: 

  • Using communication to build relationships
  • Assessing and promoting social, emotional and physical wellbeing
  • Developing and maintaining networks for collaborative partnerships
  • Providing suicide bereavement support
  • Responding appropriately to domestic and family violence
  • Working with diverse communities

Graduates of this nationally accredited Certificate IV can move into roles where they provide a first point of contact and/or directly assist individuals in meeting their immediate needs. At this level, people typically supervise others and can co-develop strategies for supporting community members and/or groups.

  • Blended, online learning (to complement face-to-face delivery)
  • Part-time – up to 10 months

There are no prerequisites for this course.

All students will engage in a language, literacy, numeracy and digital literacy (LLND) activity to evaluate potential support requirements.

The Certificate IV in Community Services consists of 15 units:

  • 7 core units
  • 8 electives

Elective units will vary depending on consultation with industry and the topics students will wish to study.
